Guides

What do you need to complete in Greece?

Choose a procedure and see clearly what you prepare online from your country and what you do after arriving in Greece at the competent office.

Before you come

Portal logic: online first, then Greece

When someone has already arrived in Greece, the path is not the consulate. We focus on online preparation before travel and direct public offices in Greece after arrival.

💻
Before you come

Before you come: online preparation

AFM, access credentials, Taxisnet, details check, myPhoto, fees and appointments where required. Anything possible from home should be done before paying for tickets.

In Greece

When you arrive in Greece: go to the competent office

For an ID card you use the police authority appointment path. For a passport you go to the competent Passport Office. The guide shows what to bring and the right order.

myPhoto + ΕΜΕπ

Critical step for myPhoto: National Communication Registry and foreign mobile

To use myPhoto and associate the photo with AFM, the citizen needs Taxisnet and a verified mobile number in the National Communication Registry. With a foreign number, online verification may not be completed through a Greek provider or bank, so the safe step is a KEP office in Greece before attempting the association.

Updates

How will procedures stay updated?

Links can be checked automatically for errors. Procedures should not change automatically without human review, because one wrong instruction can cost a trip, an appointment and money. The right model is automatic link checking plus manual content verification with a “Last checked” date.

Before you come

Before booking tickets, check these first

The biggest cost is not information. It is the wasted trip, the lost work days and the appointment that fails because one key step was missing.

Can I issue or confirm AFM before travelling?
Do I have access credentials / Taxisnet?
Have I checked if an ID-card appointment is needed?
Do I have the correct photo or myPhoto where required?
Have I verified my mobile in the National Communication Registry, especially if it is foreign?
Have I paid the correct fee and know the office?
Do my identity and registry details match?

1

Tell us what you need

ID card, passport, AFM, Taxisnet, myPhoto, fee or certificate?

2

Split it into “before I come” and “in Greece”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Why is the consulate not the first path?

Because the main problem is the citizen who has already travelled to Greece or is about to come for a few days. They need online preparation and then direct steps at Greek offices.

Why add KEP before myPhoto when the mobile number is foreign?

Because myPhoto needs a verified mobile in the registry for OTP. If a foreign number cannot be verified online through a Greek provider or bank, KEP verification in Greece should come first.

Will changes update automatically?

Links can be checked automatically for broken links. Instructions should be human-reviewed and show a last-checked date, because public procedures change and a wrong instruction can harm the user.

Are you an official public service?

No. We are an independent guidance portal. Applications are submitted on official websites.

Why would someone pay?

Basic information stays free. Payment is for personal checking, step organization and saving time for the specific case.
